The Starting Point
The goal for MadiMate was to design a seamless digital healthcare experience—one that brings together provider search, appointment booking, real-time communication, and insurance support. The main challenge was delivering a clear and consistent UX across mobile and web, while keeping the experience easy for users of all technical skill levels.
As the lead designer, I was responsible for crafting the full experience—from foundational user flows to final UI across the app and responsive website. I partnered with the product manager to prioritize core features, and collaborated with developers throughout to make sure every design detail worked smoothly in production.
Immersive Research
To anchor our design decisions, I began by analyzing user reviews and flows from competing healthcare platforms. Many users expressed frustration with slow onboarding, cluttered layouts, and poor visibility into doctor availability.
I gathered these insights and worked with stakeholders to identify high-impact user scenarios—like quickly finding a relevant doctor or initiating a live chat—so we could build around real needs and expectations.
